i have this friend

he isn't in any of these pictures




we only see each other every other month or so


but i love him just the same


tonight we met in a parking lot


we talked for a couple hours


about secrets


his are catching up with him


i wish there was something i could do


there isn't


well i suppose there is


i can listen?

and "be there" whatever that means


it just doesn't feel like enough


and sometimes i wish i could just "fix him"


and all i mean by that is that i wish I could make him see himself the way i see him
