Our neighbors invited us down to the waterfront tonight for one of Kirkland's summer concerts. During the first set I walked around and snapped photos and started a conversation with another lady doing the same. We got to talking and she told me that she reads my blog! What are the chances =]

The concert was great- they had a violin player that was using all kinds of pedals and sounds, made me want to go up there and play with him but........they never played "Row Row Row Your Boat" and that's the only song I know. Darn.

Around the House

Our new house is really starting to feel like home. Just a few things left to hang on the wall-including our grandfather clock that I'm thinking of sanding and painting. Maybe robin's egg blue? I hope my grandma doesn't kill me when she reads this :)

Yes, and it's tasty.

Small Victories

Ever since the "heat wave" that came through a few weeks ago I've been trying to get this rose bush to grow again...and ladies and gentlemen...a blossom!!!

I didn't exactly grow up in a a family that knew a whole lot about nature. The four seasons was just another hotel as far as I was concerned! I mean, we went "camping" in a 2 bedroom, pop-out dining room travel trailer with a flat screen. Once.

So this may be a small victory, but for today I'll take it! Master gardening, here I come!

Pool Party

I have to admit, I've been checking my blog with the rest of you!

A couple weeks ago I scheduled posts to publish on their own. Summer has been such a blast, I rarely log onto the computer. Every now and then I'll check my blog on my phone and say, "Oh! I remember that photo!"

And now for a real-time post:
This afternoon we went to a party for my dearest friend Ruth.

Ruth is the kindest, friendliest, most relaxed person I know. Just being next to her is like taking a deep breath. She is fun, funny, and full of joy.

One day I hope to be as wonderful a mother as Ruth is to her darling baby girl, "Avery Justice".

Remember that car I mentioned seeing on the water the other day?

It was an Amphicar! A car built for land and water in the 1960's. Genius!
