ze bachelor

i can't look away...ever since my friend's ex showed up on this show i've been hooked. ok fine-i was hooked before that. what i love is that every season is exactly the same (with a few variables thrown in to make it seem different and new.) they repeat the same tag lines over and over..."i don't usually let people in" "i really hope she can 'open up' tonight" "i mean, i'm here to find the person to spend the REST OF MY LIFE with" blablabla

but i'm sorry-it's just plain fun to watch 30 girls compete over one man. and see them cry and tell them that they "usually don't do this sort of thing". and guess which ones of them have veneers.

There ain't no tellin' who ya might meet...a movie star or may be even an Indian Chief.

Marwencol

I remember reading about Mark Hogancamp over a year ago, but never realized he had an online gallery or a film about his life.

Here is a short blip of his story:

"After being beaten into a brain-damaging coma by five men outside a bar, Mark builds a 1/6th scale World War II-era town in his backyard. Mark populates the town he dubs "Marwencol" with dolls representing his friends and family and creates life-like photographs detailing the town's many relationships and dramas. Playing in the town and photographing the action helps Mark to recover his hand-eye coordination and deal with the psychic wounds of the attack. When Mark and his photographs are discovered, a prestigious New York gallery sets up an art show. Suddenly Mark's homemade therapy is deemed "art", forcing him to choose between the safety of his fantasy life in Marwencol and the real world that he's avoided since the attack."

Doctor, Doctor, give me the news! And pharmacist...my dog ate my pain meds...oops.

Having Jess and Maria stay this weekend made me realize 2 things:

1.) Our place is incredibly small. (Erik and I are so adaptable that it scares me a little bit.)

2.) True friends are better than anything. Even ice cream sundaes.

This weekend we laughed and talked and just enjoyed being together. We remembered years past and the times we were able to lean on one another. We made plans to get together in the future...maybe Hawaii? :) We also made our guys shop with us and try on clothes. muah hahahaha. We drank wine and did a puzzle.

Let me just stop here a minute.

When was the last time you did a puzzle? I hadn't done a puzzle in about 15 years. It was so much fun. I've even (seriously) joked about shellacking it.

I'm so thankful for the friendships we've made over the years. Thankful we can share the love even when we live far apart, and fortunate to have such beautiful people (inside and out) in my life.

Gonna be a Slackanizer weekend!!!!

Our good friends from Ohio fly in today! We are so excited to see them. Talk about the cutest couple in the world- she is a doctor and he is a pharmacist! How amazingly sweeet is that???? At their wedding, instead of throwing confetti, we threw placebo capsules manufactured in their wedding colors. I'm sorry. I need a moment. All of that cute-ness is just rushing back to me.

They've been to Sea-town a couple times before, so we can for-go the space needle and do some super townie things!

Like take them to see Rat City Roller Girls, or have a yummy breakfast at Voula's, orrrr watch the Seahawks beat "da Bears" in Chicago!!

woo hoo!

I want to live here.

With my six children (2 of them are twin girls). And I want to lie in the hammock while they play in the yard. And I want them all to get along and never ever fight unless it is play fighting. And I want Erik to come home from work and scoop them all up and give them piggy-back rides and tell them to finish their homework. Then I'll sing them all lullabies until they fall asleep and Erik and I will sneak downstairs and build a fire. And snuggle. And eat cookies and milk.

What am I saying?? Even I don't know. But a girl can dream can't she? :)

R & R

Suncadia was heaven last weekend. What could be more beautiful than sun + a few feet of powdery snow? We went tubing, swimming, and spent an afternoon at the spa, but the best part to me was snuggling up in the cozy cabin and doing absolutely nothing.
